Agree, I see Error got 3 LA 10 from Germany, Brazil and Argentina . He invested about 5-6 mln in each country. So he go three CA 1 player and PR 4. They need 4-5 seasons training in first team . He can't do this. IMHO he wasted his money. Yesterday 2/11/4 form YC was sold for 2,89 only!!! http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=6817446

IMHO,YC are for teams in lower divisions , who cant farm those rookies. Or teams in small country without any competitions

Is it me or most LA10 players are pulled from youth camp? I haven't seen all countries youth, but at least in Argentina top LA players list, LA10 players are rarely from academy, most of then are from camps...

In Argentina maybe, cause you have just few best academies. In Poland we have 7 LA 10+ players this season. In total there is more LA 10+ players form academies then Youth Camps, IMHO

Add 1. Players form academies are many times better than those form YC cause they are at CA 3 or 4  from the beginning.

Argentina is a top investments country at youth camps lottery,so most of LA 10 comes from there...Poland is a country with low investmenst in youth camps and with many the best academies...but i'm pretty sure that the number of LA 10 players from youth camps is bigger than LA 10 from academies and also PR for players from academies was reduced, most of them was this season with PR 3,only some of them with PR 4 and very rarely with PR 5...witch is pretty unfair and unbalanced in my opinion  :(

While the lure of high LA players from youth camp might seem attractive, I have come to the conclusion it is an illusion...for most of us a 1/7/4 youth camp player is just about as good as a 1/11/4 youth camper, and a 3/7/3 academy promotion might be be better than either.

This is because there just isn't enough time to bring these players up to their LA before the PR drops out. CA1-3 players will be hard to get any match time outside of friendlies or custom cups. Even with good quality facilities and coaches, I can't see a high LA youth camp player achieving better than CA7-8 by age 21 (under 5 seasons) after which his PR is reduced to 2 and then down to 1 by age 23. Let's compare four hypothetical players - two from youth camps with LA7 and LA11 and two 3/7/3 players from academies, one aged 15 when promoted, the other age 17. Here it is assumed players below CA5 get little, if any time in competitive matches but are used in most friendlies, while those above CA5 are used extensively, played in most competitive matches and some friendlies:

             Youth Camp            Academy
Age    1/7/4     1/11/4     3/7/3     3/7/3
15                                      3
16                                      4
17         1            1             5           3
18         2            2             7           5
19         3            3             7           7
20         5            5             8           7
21         7            7             8           8
22         8            8             9           8
23         8            9             9           9
24         9            9             10         9
25         9            10           10         10
26         10          10           11         10
27         10          11           11         11
28         11          11           12         11

Amazingly, the 3/7/3 promoted at age 15 from academy reaches CA9 first, and can reach CA12 by age 28!!! By age 23 both academy players have achieved CA9 but only the LA11 youth camp player will have done this! Of course the rate of CA increase could be increased by playing them in competitive matches much earlier (CA1-4), but there is a limit of how many players can be used this way and doing so would surely hurt the team's competitiveness. The earliest a youth camp player could reach CA11 is at age 23 I think, only 3 seasons ahead of the 15y 3/7/3 academy player...and representing at least 2 seasons where the player must be used in competitive matches despite poor quality.
Never sacrifice passion for glory!

Brian, i don´t think your estimation of how fast a player will keep developing after CA is higher than LA is accurate. here´s why:
i received a player at the age of 15. he was a 3/7/4 (so he could train even faster than the 3/7/3 you presented), value 216,999, training prediction 5,7,7. he played in the first team right from the start and quickly got into u21. he had 33 official matches in the first season and a total of 175 until today. i have no idea how many friendlies or custom cup, but there have been quite a lot, i can assure you.

he reached his LA when he was 16, towards the end of the season. he is now 19, with 16 official matches + 11 friendlies to his name this season, and still a 7/7/4.

you estimated 2 seasons per CA level increase. i disagree with your estimation.

Nice analyze , Brian :) . It is absolutely true that CA 1 players are hard to develop and there is almost impossible to train them in league games by majority of users. So for me is clear that youth camps system is for users from lower leagues or them who can sacrifice present results for future goals.

I have some different look at this table. Lets look for best coach (700k) and very good training facilities.

             Youth Camp            Academy
Age    1/7/4     1/11/4     3/7/3     3/7/3
15                                      3
16                                      4
17         1            1             5           3
18         2            2             7           5
19         3            3             7           7
20         5            5             8           7
21         7            7             8           8
22         8            8             9           8
23         8            9             9           9
24         9            9             10         9
25         9            10           10         10
26         10          10           11         10
27         10          11           11         11
28         11          11           12         11

1.   players with PR4 and CA 2 grow faster even at age 18 , so I think 1/7/4 can reach CA 7 in 4 seasons only playing in friendlies
2.   From my experience players don’t get  a level in CA in 2 seasons after block in potential. I think it is rather 4. Lets say 3 cause it is more probably.

So for me it is like that :

             Youth Camp            Academy
Age    1/7/4     1/11/4     3/7/3     3/7/3
15                                      3
16                                      4
17         1            1             5           3
18         2            2             7           4
19         4           4             8          5
20         7          7             8          7
21         7            8             8          7
22         8            9,5           9         8
23         8           11             9           8
24        8            11             9        8
25         9            11           10      9
26         9       12          10       9
27        9          12           10        9
28         10          12           11      10

And it shows that
-   7/4 from YC is same as 3/7/3 from academy at same age,
-   LA 12 from YC is better then LA 7 from  academy( 17 y) only after 5 seasons training and better the LA 7 ( 15 y) after 6-7 seasons !

Carlos said it many times , the low CA with age 17 is main problem with youth form YC. As we all agree , they are hard and long time training.

@Top Level
Brian talk in general. NT and league games are excluded form his analyze for first  few seasons cause CA1 players don't play generally in those games. Condition are the same for player form YC and academy.  You show your player, I agree it is possible to do that, even easy to do( but it is rather exception then usual). Brian tried to show different things.

my point was that even after 3 seasons, with so many matches, the player was still 7/7/4, not that he got to CA7 fast.

Ok, my bad. I misunderstood you. So we both agree that after block in LA it takes more then 2 seasons when player gets one more in CA. Do we? IMHO it is rather 4 but to my prediction above I took 3 cuase I don' want to be far then Brian's 2.

Yes. It is the point.

Young from YC are amost impossibile to train properly.

I received a 1/6/4 in the first time last season and he played all league matches even if too weak for be a competitive player in the italian C league (with almost half of the that are BOTS) and I had hard times with him in the defensive lines. This season he's playing all friendly and custom cup and now he's still 2/6/4.

Actually I am using a player I had at the begininning of this season from accademy and he's yet CA 3. He's 3/5/3. One day the YC's one will be stronger. Yes but one day.

It needs too much time for having an interesting player from YC.

Yeah, I agree that new youth players overall skills should be boosted a little bit..
I got a decent player this season but his CA is like 0.5, literally all of his skills <6 LOL

I don't know why players from YC should be better? And why those from academies not? Or maybe let give everyone LA 10 now? :)

Maybe they should younger only cause CA 1 is hard to train.

If they would be  16 years old, they might be far more attractive.
You would have an extra season to train him (with a faster improvement than 17 years old) and they might be useful at age 19.

Such a minimal change might make camps more attractive to bigger teams.

Until then, big teams can't find them attractive. It's a lot easier searching for a higher CA player, playing in a specific position and a convenient injury prone level.

Farm a 17yo player, 1/11/4, injury prone easy? No thank you....

How about the youth players that come later in the season are 16 y/o ? The ones that come early are fine to stay 17 since you have 80% of the season to train them but the others you pretty much get them at 18 since season is like over?

Or at least players taken later should have higher CA, otherwise youth camps arent worth it.
