Author Topic: [Suggestion] World Cup Qualification Suggestion (Read 5844 times)

At the very beginning of this season i made a suggestion about WC qualification. Admin told that he can share that qualification rules. there is no further knowledge about this. can this be implemented or not. I want to share this plan again.

As we know we will get 32 teams in World Cup. There is 208 NT in this game. Here are the qualification steps.

1. Team who will win last Championship will be automatically seeded for the WC(can/cannot be host. Doesn't matter).
2. Group matches will be played as 1 leg(due to lack of match day). After group matches finish, 23 group winner will be directly seeded. (23+1 = 24 team is seeded until now)
3. Best 7 second placed team will be seeded directly (24+7 = 31 team seeded until now)
4. Rest 16 second placed team will make play-off matches. Winner of this knock-out will be seeded to WC.

So total of 13 match will decide the WC qualifiers.

As my humble opinion this will be better solution then current qualification. Also to prevent any matching of the top teams in groups, there will be 9-pots for seedings.

Well this is something we should think about... This looks ok and very realistic,but too many time will be lost during qualification period and can be the main problem if the teams which didnt qualified could not play friendly matches during the World cup. $:-\$

NT Friendlies in that period must be an issue to be handled also. But if they implement this qualification method, they also implement the way of NT friendlies. Also current qualification is taking long time. but think like one season for qualification one season for WC. this is the way of the how WC implemented currently

In my opinion, Why don't we seperated in zone as a continent to qualify 32 teams in WC like real football.
And used coefficient to calculate the number of nations in each zone.

According to real football, Europe zone got the highest coefficient which is 13 countries.
While Oceania zone lowest coefficient. Because may be football isn't famous their.

We can also do the same in GKO.
These will give an opportunity to continent where don't have much users. Such as Africa Zone, Concacef Zone
Now you can't see the result, but in the future as an increasing of users in the continent like Europe, Asia etc.
At last,Some of continent would disappear in WC.

Host competition in WC, May be that sounds like some fun.

It might be interesting indeed, but i think we should have the Chairman feature before that. We don't even have the famous "National Stadium" so far.... or sholud we play World Cup matches in stadiums with 20.000 capacity?

To me, host a World Cup feature needs more time, at least until some teams get enough rating to have bigger stadiums, until nodoby reaches that 7.000 rating limit, it's useless IMHO.

Why not ? what is the current capacity of the world cup stadiums already ? highest and best quality stadiums can be used for the host nation. But i agree that first of all the chairman feature must be implemented.

Therefore, we came up with this idea.

26 groups of 8 teams (Each team plays one match against each of the other teams in the same group

-> The teams finishing first in each group are qualified for the knockout stage. (8 teams)

-> 6 runners up from all group are qualified for the knockout stage. (Pick from the performance but if the performance is equal we select randomly)

Thus, the knockout stage comprises of 14 teams.

Sorry for the late response but don't understand what you mean here.

1) if we get all group winners we have 26 teams. don't understand how you get 14 team

2) I calculated wrong. my first offer is still available.
only 12 matches needed for World Cup Qualification.
Every NT Match Day, 1 team from groups are not playing.
This issue can be solved by friendly between that kind of teams. (23 bye team and WC host)

I also managed a weekly schedule. if you want to see; i can share it.

Yes, Emrey Yavuz, you are correct. There is an error in admin's post. Instead of 8 teams from the group stage there would be 26 teams (26 1st place teams = 26 teams)
That way, 26 1st place teams + 6 more teams = 32 teams
32/2=16
16/2=8
8/2=4
4/2=2
2/2=1

So it works out this way.

i beleive that there must be a play-off matches between the runners-up. because IMHO every runners-up needs a chance to play in WC.

mine is just a suggestion. Also need a strict and fair rules between the runners-up to select for WC.

also for this i had a suggestion;

1) Most Points
2) Most Win count
3) Most Goal Difference
4) Most Goals scored
5) Least # of red cards

goes step by step if there is an equality.
