strange choice

i have a player that i think he should play in his NT, but he doesn´t. yes, it´s a bot NT team, so the problem is not with the person in charge of that NT, because there is none. there must be some glitch in the selection algorithm. or not. i´ll post here details about my player and the one that does play and kindly ask for your opinion: who should play?

Yes. This is one of the biggest problems with bot NT managers...they often do not pick the best players, even within the 4-4-2 formation. I hope your nation, and others like it, can get NT managers someday soon. I think most of us would prefer a live manager to a better bot!

the really sad part is that my player never played. not even once!

do you think this topic should be moved to suggestions/bugs? i did  not post there because i thought there might be a logical explanation and my player is indeed the second choice out of the 2 players.

 ;) One thing you can do is advocate for your players. Try to contact the national team manager and suggest he look at your player. Advise him on the players quality and suggest that he give him an appearance to prove your faith in the player. It helps if you can have the prospect playing in league matches well. Good stats impress some managers.  It's not a guarantee, but if the manager is serious about his responsibility to that country, he will probably at least take a look at your player.
I have a young player that was dropped from his nation youth team because his limited ability was too low. The two managers of that country have an agreement that they will use the national team to help produce a quality senior team, farming the countries best prospects from an early age. I suggested that my player had the kind of skills that he might be able to use and was well trained for the style of play used by that countries managers. I was lucky and my player was given a chance to at least sit on the U21 bench. Perhaps one day he will be given a chance to prove his worth to his country.

Just a question:

Is your MR good at any marking? I have a similar issue with an MC  (currently out in loan) who doesn't play for NT, my only guess is that my MC is not that good at man marking (i raised him to do zonal marking) and the bot team sometimes uses the fittest player to use default marking (in other words, some zonal marking stats and some man marking stats). MR/L are also involved on team marking duties, probably the other MR is a bit better marking than yours.

Still, bot NT managers are too hard to understand  :P

Good point Carlos. I hadn't considered that but it would stand to reason that this is the case especially since the bot seems to prefer many players of low limited ability who are not exceptionally talented in my opinion.  :-\ If you are correct, it would mean that the bot is selecting the best all around players rather than taking players who are skilled in some areas at the expense of being more average across the board. Definitely something to add to the consideration list.

this must be it. his man marking is not that good, UMM 37 OMM 49.
still, his average for all the tactical skills (UPM to OSP) is quite high, 55 and his level is 67. i doubt the other player can beat that, because his estimated value is just a little over 1/3 of that of my player and his experience is lower.
anyway, there´s nothing i can do about it, i´m not going to waste training points on his marking skill.
