Gokickoff match engine balanced season 9

In this season, FL and FR will affect pressing more and stand off more tactics.

Way not FC? In real football forwards also participate in press tactics.

My question is, since we have no players with FL or FR, how do we determine what player to put in that position.  If we do play a player in that position, will they loose points for not playing in a position they know?  :-\

AMR and AML can play as FR/FR and their skills werent penalized, the only difference between them was that FR/FL weren't involved in pressing so far, this season they will be exactly the same, next season they will probably have different effect in team tactics, but this season it won't be a change betbween an AMR or a FR, speaking about tactical efficiency of course.

AMR and AML can play as FR/FR without skills being penalised. You don't have do put players in every positions for a tactics
since the average is more important. Look at the manual. We just include FL/FR.

Actually, this change reduces the number of options in team selection. With the old system there was the choice to play an AML/AMR 1) as a true AML/AMR where press/standoff tactics count or as an FL/FR where they don't. Now it doesn't matter...this option is gone.

Exactly, from now on, only DC and FC are excluded on team pressure. If the manager was smart, he used to have the chance to improve the press more ability, just moving the AMR/AML to the "F" line. Now it doesn't matter what you do, they will need to press, no matter what happens.
But there's one more thing that concerns me, with all the recent changes, people will gradually be pushed to farm similar players to all position, with the old system we used to have the chance to create an AMR (with some pressure ability) to play as AMR or an AMR (with low pressure ability and high roaming ability) to play as FR, now we can't, tactically speaking they are exactly the same.

I know that it might be a little offtopic, but am interested to see how things will work next season, admin said that each position will have a different weight on team's tactic (for now, each position has exactly the same weight).

IMHO this change should only affect forward wings who are not supported by (at least) 2 other wing players such as in a 4-3-3. Forward wingers should only be expected to track back and apply press tactics when there are fewer wing players behind him (e.g. 3-3-1-3 formation).

In other words, FL/FR should participate in press tactics in formations like this:



but NOT with formations like this:


Ultimately I think this change is a huge disincentive to for managers who would use formations like 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 that use specialized forward wings, halfback wings, and fullbacks. As a result, these formations are being penalized and won't really be used in the game.

IMO forwards should affect closing down tactics whenever and only when there is not BOTH a defender and midfielder behind him.
Thus, forward wings would affect closing down tactcs in the top formation in my elast post, but not the 4-3-3 formation below it.

To be fair, FC players should also affect closing down tactics with formations lacking central midfielders, e.g:


Furthermore, ANY PLAYER that is included in closing down tactics should also be included in creativity calculations!
