i am aware that a DC can only help in UZM or UMM and OMR or OSP.... but in the analysis he has also values for UPM or USM. What are the skills needed to improve the press more of a DC?

(Pace+Acceleration)/2, Stamina, Tackling

This is your player but better idea is to make him more defending, or aerial or tactical skills , IMHO. But if you have LA 13+ you can do anything you want

add 1) if you want to spend some potencial of the players for UPM, look at midfielders first instead of DC

It's generally good to have a defender with pace/acceleration and tackling, throw in some stamina too and by my accounts he'll perform well in the last 20-30 minutes aswell. That's my experience with stamina anyways, dunno if it's correct. But you'll also need "off the ball" to get a good level of UPM, that's not a good defender skill...
