Player Not Playing in Natural Position

Hello Guys,

i have a question. 

I have an ML. 

Natural: ML
Unconvincing: AML

If i play him AML, in the team report i noticed something.

UPM and OPM are nearly the same

UZM decreases and OZM increases

UMR increases and OMR decreases. 

Is the fact that he is unconvincing in the position already calculated in the total of the report?

If he was natural, the calculations would be different?

If yes, than if i want to increase OZM than this means i can play him in his unconvincing position?

Yes, and if you set it as central midfielder you will notice a bigger decreasing of his tactics value. If you increase his skills about OZM, his tactic value will increase, but he will be still unconvincing as AML. Only if you set him in his natural position, you will be able to use 100% of his value.

what about the change in values when you place AML to FL.  There is no information about if it is natural or not in FL.

I have AML... if i place him as FL these are the changes:

If as an FL it is still 100%, then i think it is best to play aml as fl.

oh yes, it is very effective! Many times it is better than adding a second FC...For example, in my experience, playing with 3 forwarder it is no good except if you play with FR FC FL...anyway even if more effective under tactics point of view, adding a forwarded man you will also loose a little bit of ball possession. I hope that other managers with more experience in playing with side attacker could confirm or not this....

AML to be FL is nature position also AMR to be FR
but it good or not let's try it your self.  :P

 ;) I have done some experimenting with this. I have noticed that a player can play any position that they have the skills to play. Their ability in that position will decrease depending on how well they can play there or if at all. How well they play in the game depends on the people they play against from my observation. A player can be totally unconvincing in a position and still have an outstanding game if he is playing against opposition that is weaker than his skill value in that position. The player will always be better in the natural position, but as one noted in this forum, sometimes, a player out of position will give the team a better overall value as far as tactics are concerned.

As a rule, I try to play all my players in their natural position but I will occasional play a few out of position for training purposes. In the end, it depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
