It's a well known move, Messi is pretty good at it (he mastered that move when Frank Rijkaard promoted him to FCB main squad, sending him to the right wing), despite he plays as false 9 now, he usually goes to his right side and moves through the middle with the ball, Marco Reus is another good example of it (he's right feet, and playing as AML he usually strikes from mid range after going from left to middle).
To be honest, i think this move can happen with current engine, the reason is pretty simple: there's no docs that proves that prefered foot affects performance, in other words, if you train a left footed AMR (something rare to find, but there are some) properly, he can move through some players and score from mid/long range. I have an AMR that performs greatly as goalscorer, there's not a real formula to achieve this, but giving him good AFS (action finding an oportunity to score) and ADB (action dribbling) should be enough.
Having more inverted wingers could happen if we could teach a left footed AML to play as AMR, but well, that's another old request "in development"....
