I've had similar players of LA 5, 6 or 7 from my 'Best' academy since I upgraded. I've also had far too many DC's and MC's.

Fortunately, I got very lucky this season and got a couple of pearls. So good, in fact, I've already had someone messaging me asking if one player was for sale - JUST HOURS AFTER I PROMOTED HIM FROM MY ACADEMY.  ???

Need help ? / Re: Players Salary
« on: January 19, 2015, 01:07:43 AM »
It's happening with me and two of my players who were earning around 2,000G per week before. Now they've developed into CA6-7 calibre players and demand over 9,000G per week.

Although one of them is having to wait for a new contract while I try to trim my wage bill.  :)

It's just the matches where they came on as a substitute. The numbers not in brackets are the matches where they were in the team at the kick-off.

It's a post that's okay too. I am easy to understand
!

Speaking as a native English, er, speaker... No. No you are not.  ::)

This is exactly what spam is. It's what the term was created for.

It has been posted many times in the US chatroom and it has now seeped into the England chatroom, much to my visible annoyance. I've looked around and seen it in the chatrooms for countries like Wales, Swaziland and a dozen others.

It's spam because nobody comes to GKO for a job. As infuriating as it is to see the chat spammed with 'players for sell' across a hundred countries (even if you have the filter turned on), or even to receive personal messages from people 'looking for players with xLA', those messages are at least relevant to GKO.

This job posting is not relevant to GKO. It is definite spam. Spam, spam, spam. So much spam there's no space for the baked beans!

We've needed chatroom moderation for ages, but this is the first time I've ever seen job advertising on it. Consider it the straw that broke the camel's back.

England

Because I wasn't going to say anyone else.  :-X

UPDATED - Two more experienced players now available!  :)

8
Interesting to look at. Three defenders has been my default for many seasons now, but it looks like I may need to shuffle my cards, especially if I want to stay in the Top Level.  :'(

ROOSTOPHE ROVERS PLAYER SALE!

New season, new players available to buy from last season's B-3 Champions, and one of the newboys of England's Top Level!

Players from many different positions available. Some young with good potential and good Limited Ability, some fully developed and experienced players.

PLAYERS FROM GOOD/VERY GOOD ACADEMY:

[GK] Ashton Beasley - 17 y.o. - SOLD!

[DC] Astor Crouch - 18 y.o.
2/7/3
CURRENT VALUE: 183,482G
CURRENT PRICE: 181,800G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=7337025
Very good potential, but he just isn't going to get much playtime under me. Could serve you well!

[DML] Nicolao Ubina - 18 y.o.
4/5/2
CURRENT VALUE: 313,333G
CURRENT PRICE: 300,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=7118071
DML just isn't a position I play, if ever. Already worth over 300k so won't need much more development.

[AMC] Hadyn Foster - 19 y.o.
3/5/4
CURRENT VALUE: 261,465G
CURRENT PRICE: 127,200G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=6727705
Not actually from my Academy, but the Youth Camp I had for one season. Selling for a low price because there's no way I'm going to get back the money I spent on the youth camp...

[FC] Martin Jasso - 17 y.o.
2/6/2
CURRENT VALUE: 178,333G
CURRENT PRICE: 180,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=7334909
Like with the goalkeepers, I have too many forwards. This player has similar CA/LA/PR to my other forwards but came from the academy with a very low value and CA (and so isn't likely to develop much more because he isn't going to be played.). He could do with a club that will train him up properly. Would that be you?

EXPERIENCED PLAYERS FOR SALE:

[GK] Kenji Nakahara - 25 y.o. 4/4/1 - SOLD!

[DC] Temple Scrivens - 21 y.o. 4/4/3
Experience: 3 stars
CURRENT VALUE: 384,532G
CURRENT PRICE: 325,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=5364899
Has reached his Limited Ability, so isn't going to develop much more. He is only 21, though, so he will gain a lot more experience than he already has. Will not be available when Nuttha Winothai is transfer-listed.

[DC] Nuttha Winothai - 29 y.o. 4/3/1
Experience: 5 stars
CURRENT VALUE: 347,999G
CURRENT PRICE: 200,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=2144508
Experienced player who has played well over 150 games for my team since I signed him in season 3. Has exceeded his limited ability. Will not be available when Temple Scrivens is transfer-listed.

[MR] Noppon Hirunyapreuk - 23 y.o. 4/5/1
Experience: 2 stars
CURRENT VALUE: 323,200G
CURRENT PRICE: 50,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=4089592
Not much experience and is developing slowly, but has enough CA to do well in a lower division (maybe C-Level and below.) Selling at a low price and has a small wage.

[AML] Meilin Ruan - 30 y.o. 4/4/1
Experience: 4 stars
CURRENT VALUE: 208,999G
CURRENT PRICE: 150,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=4198082
Has good attributes for an Attacking Midfield player. Played over 100 matches for me so has a fair amount of experience.

[FC] Ritchie Kimball - 23 y.o. 4/4/1
Experience: 3 stars
CURRENT VALUE: 405,132G
CURRENT PRICE: 200,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=4503540
Has high finishing, meaning he is good at freekicks and penalties.

PLAYERS AVAILABLE FOR LOAN:

[DC] Saxon Steffen - 17 y.o.
3/7/3
CURRENT VALUE: 309,732G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=7027327
Has terrific LA and a good PR means he can develop fairly quickly, especially if he gets some league games in him.

[MC] Malakai Alvey - 18 y.o.
4/6/3
CURRENT VALUE: 380,000G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=7027373
Same as Saxon Steffen; great LA and a good PR enabling him to develop well. Has already got some league games this season due to injury cover and experimenting with formations.

[FC] Ajasra Kurapati - 18 y.o.
3/5/6
CURRENT VALUE: 329,665G
http://www.gokickoff.com/team_player_detail.php?player_id=7337023
The highest PR of any of my youth products ever. I mentioned I have enough forwards already, so I think this one can go out on loan for a little while.

 :) Happy Shopping! :)

Isn't it a bit excessive?  :-\

Yes, but what's even more excessive is that I just got an e-mail of "GOOD PLAYER 4 SELL" because the fool decide to click "Announce Topic" under Additional Options when he made his thread in the 'Transfer Ads' board.

I've been bothered by the constant ramming of player ads down my throat, but this is the first time it's made me yell "Fuck off!"  >:(

General Discussion(English Only) / Re: This game is Rubbish I quit !!
« on: October 06, 2013, 01:40:29 AM »
before anything else, I'd be extremely annoyed if someone had created a team in my nation called "white power" using a picture of a hooded Klansman. The manager is disgraceful and the team should be deleted or at least rejected by the GKO community.
 ???

Agreed. Many managers use their club name/ground/colours and their username to show their favourite club/player/manager or even a TV show or film. So chances are this manager really does believe in 'White Power' ideals.

Also i must admit: all of us had a bad result streak eventually, i don't think "it's the game against me", sometimes it seems that despite your player's morale, your team doesn't permorm as good as it should, we all suffered it eventually and it also happens in real life, just try to hold on until that stop happening.  :)

As the saying goes: 'Shit happens'. I drew 0-0 today with the team bottom of my league and they didn't use MotS. My players who were instructed to take long shots 'often' went crazy despite the main tactic being 'rarely', I chose a 'Shorter' passing style purely on a whim, and my strikers just didn't play very well. I'm still in 1st place but now only one point ahead of 2nd when I was 4 points clear just a week ago. It's extremely frustrating not to win a match that you really should have, but all you can do is look at where the mistakes are coming from and try to fix them before the next match.

15
Well, I had my arse handed to me in several matches and scored just three goals, but I'll be back next season regardless of my youth team's quality.

16
When i really want a player, i also try to be online, i must admit that few times i set an alarm in my watch to bid hehehe.

Now THAT is dedication to GKO!  :D

Roostophe Rovers (40012) - Very Good

Wasn't sure about joining initially, but I'll have enough players come the new season. Hopefully my upgraded academy will finally give me a striker this time around. It gave me 3 goalkeepers last season.  :'(

While we're on the subject, how about changing the flag of Libya? The system is still using the plain green flag from before the Libyan Civil War in 2011. They have a different flag now.

I don't think he's talking about language; I think he's requesting for players to have Kosovo nationality.

But forget about that. We'd better start running. The Serbians are coming...  :o

I did very badly; the low skill of the youths I had meant I should really have stayed in Group B.  :-X

Thanks for inviting me, man. I'd be up to do it again next time. :)

Off-topic / Re: What club(s) do you support?
« on: March 18, 2013, 01:45:23 AM »
But changing the club name to a sponsor is NOT something fans of clubs will go for.

For Arsenal to have a sponsorship name at a stadium that was built only a few years ago can be accepted: They need some way to bring money in, because building a stadium as big as that is bloody expensive!

But if Arsenal decided to change their name for sponsorship reasons, the fans would hate it even if it were to bring in millions and millions to the club.

A new owner will most likely respect a club's tradition and history when they buy the club. But they might do what Red Bull did to Austria Salzburg (now called 'Red Bull Salzburg') and completely strip the club of what it was before.

However, if Arsenal decided to change their name to associate themselves with the area they're based in, for instance 'Highbury Arsenal', then it might be received better by fans. (In fact, Greenock Morton added the 'Greenock' part to the name less than 20 years ago; they were known as just 'Morton' for 120 years before then.)

I get you now. I had assumed 'professional' in the way that the players were all professional. (Just like what I said about Sutton Coldfield Town; the players are part-timers.)

You do of course make very good points. Everything you mentioned about 'organic' clubs and community can be directly linked to when Wimbledon FC were relocated to Milton Keynes.

You can also link it to what's happening at Cardiff City: Its Malaysian owner has changed the club's kit from blue to red, changed the club crest to include the Welsh dragon and practically strip the club of any real identity from the 'Bluebirds' they were just twelve months ago.
Lots of fans have been vocal and angry with the changes, because Cardiff have worn blue for decades and always been 'Bluebirds'. Because the identity isn't just about the name; it's also the kit colour.

Fans of clubs that have had kit colours and names for 100+ years believe those should never change. Aston Villa have always been called as such since they formed in 1874, and adopted the claret and blue colours in 1887. The name and kit is now embedded in Villa's history and the fans never want to see them change.
Some local politician one time said Aston Villa should change their name to include 'Birmingham' (e.g. Aston Villa Birmingham), this was met with much derision from the Villa fans for reasons such as identity and tradition. (Link to news article)

And to put something in perspective: Football clubs 700 miles away from me are in the Netherlands (Ajax, ADO Den Haag and Feyenoord.)
