This season Thailand can go at the end of competition, with technique and experience players, 3-4 teams have something more then others, like China, Thailand, Germany, Poland, Argentina ... Some outsiders and some group very very hard like B,D and G and other groups more simple like H ... I think that will be a great World Cup!

I'd say Argentina is the team to beat, Thailand and Spain could also win it. China, England, and USA are dark horses for the prize.

Argentina-Thailand would be a good final

Meanwhile I wonder how many teams were negatively affected by the silly injury rule that bumps injured players out of NT squads? This rule should be fixed, especially for the WC!

You are right there is no way Brian would say anything to deliberately offend GKO managers.

He was just trying to have some fun. If you look at it poll - only 1% of managers thought USA could win the WC but in fact so far they have won 6 points from two matches. Where as Serbia are second favourites with 13% of the vote but have only returned 1 point.

Of course, we all know that the poll really only rates the population of GKO forum users that can be bothered to vote but if you take it literally then Brian is right. But no one is really suggesting that Serbia have made a mess (they very unlucky against Ecuador) and I don't think anyone yet thinks USA can win the WC - although they do have a history!

It is ok to support your nation, but I don't find appropriate to comment other nations, especially in negative sense. It is at least matter of nice manners and elementary respect between nations. Arrogance is very bad behavior...

With all respect, threads like this always might tend to generate innecesary discussion, some people votes with their head, others vote for their heart. I respect serbian team, a lot, but i think there are teams stronger than them, however a good managerial work can compensate many weakneses, so why not?

If i would vote with my heart, Argentina is a candidate, it always is after all. But many things changed this season, new engine made us weaker than before, and things in our lives are different too. I will vote with my head: i picked China, but i think that Thailand have a big chance too.

Exactly...also, USA is one of only two nations that have ever won a GKO World Cup, and the very manager that won it is managing the team once again!

Relax, my friend. It's called banter, all in good fun. I will admit, there is a fine line between friendly banter and bigotry, but I know this line very well; I have been a chat moderator on a major online sports streaming site for almost 3 years. TBH my statement wasn't even banter, but merely an astute observation, if I may say so myself. Banter would be more like "English can't take penalties" or "USA is rubbish at football (but not as rubbish as Canada)"...or, better yet, "please give Neven Suboti? back to us!"...hehe

Malaysia is definitely the biggest surprise of the championship! They are my favorites because I was knocked out of the group stage by them
