  I feel passing style has a lot to do with your opponents style, but also has a lot to do how well you can execute either tactic. It makes no sense using a tactic that you have little or no ability in. In that case, your decision is set for you. If your team excels at shorter passing, your best chances will come from those. If your players can deliver longer passes better, more direct may be the way to go.

As stated in a previous comment, your opponents style is also a factor. It just makes sense to play a tactic which is best suited to attack the weaknesses of your opponent so checking how well they defend longer and shorter passes should also be a factor in your decision.

If in doubt, do default. Sure, you will be doing long and short passing but this at least gives you the chance to exploit the tactic that will best break down your opponent at the cost of not being able to focus on one tactic.

  It's an old argument. Nobody really cares unless they are in your situation. Admin doesn't care either. We've cried about this in Bermuda for many seasons but the answer is always the same. It makes no sense so eventually you give up and realize what the rest of GKO realizes... this game isn't about being fair.

  I agree with Brian. The goal of these cups is to create a competition where players under 21 years old can compete with their pears. Those managers who can not field 11 players under 21 years old should not compete. Its that simple. In the tournament I am currently in, playing older players is strictly frowned on. I advanced one round because another player used older players and was happy that the tournament organizers had noticed, as I hadn't.
The only solution to this problem is heavy penalties for those who don't follow these rules. In custom cups this is harder, but it isn't so hard to organize in friendly tournaments.

  I have done some experimenting with this. I have noticed that a player can play any position that they have the skills to play. Their ability in that position will decrease depending on how well they can play there or if at all. How well they play in the game depends on the people they play against from my observation. A player can be totally unconvincing in a position and still have an outstanding game if he is playing against opposition that is weaker than his skill value in that position. The player will always be better in the natural position, but as one noted in this forum, sometimes, a player out of position will give the team a better overall value as far as tactics are concerned.

As a rule, I try to play all my players in their natural position but I will occasional play a few out of position for training purposes. In the end, it depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

  On the subject of loan transfers, I think the parent club should have the right to recall any player at anytime. It is their player and they are simply choosing to breach a contract where the loaning team pays the salary for the season for the right to use them. The token traders and those who loan for some other reason will need to find a new way to profit since people won't pay tokens if a player can simply be recalled. Also, the loaning team, since it is breaking a contract, should pay some kind of contractual breech to the other club. In this way, it is up to the parent if they want to pay the expense of returning the player as well as gives some return for a club who took the loan and needs the player.

  This is an awesome idea and really what the Bermuda League has wanted for a long time. The ability to select players is key for team development but having the ability to not have the BOTS select players out of position or use those crappy tactics would be a Godsend. We could really get more involved with Nation Team activities and take some pride in what our small countries are doing there. Two thumbs up Brian.

  The problem is more difficult than simply noting a similar IP address. You must also consider that in some leagues, some people will be friends. I know that in the Bermuda League, must users here know each other well. This means sometimes they will log in at the same location or using the same computer. In these cases, a similar IP address will be shown. This isn't a problem when the users log into different IP addresses also. It's not so simple as banning everyone who has a similar IP address.

  It would be great if loan transfers could be terminated. There could be many advantages to bringing a player back from a loan transfer and think it would be a good addition to the game. This gives advantages to loaning teams as well as the team that may take a player on loan. There are obvious advantages for the loaning team but even the team that takes the loan may find that having this option is better for all parties involved, especially if there a disagreements on a players ability, salary and playing time. Also, players may only be needed for a limited period while another player is injured, banned, ect. It would be good if admin. could look into that option for next or future seasons.

  Agreements are great and all, if they can be formed. I suffer from a lot of success in my league and the league does seem to have an agreement... That agreement being play mots on Hibury (I get it but its still not cool.) They don't want to see Hibury win the league again at any cost, so basically, MOTs has been designated against the club.

A lot of what has been suggested makes sense. It would seem that MOTs really doesn't matter if your team is strong enough but when dealing with league rivals, its either play at home or take a loss. I agree that MOTS right now has too much influence over the performance of teams.

 ;)So basically the conversation about MOTS is dead... For those who hate it... it's here to stay. Yet, I have something that I think is more important to discuss about MOTS. Let's discuss how they can be beaten. I have had 10 MOTS used against me this season. I was defeated by three of them and two others went to draws. So basically, they were effective enough to cost my the league.

Perhaps there are some good ways of defeating MOTS. I find that when I set up normally and do nothing irregular, I have the best chance of success against them. Perhaps someone has other ideas on how to deal with continuous MOT use.

  Once again you have all missed the point, save a few people like Brian and Andy who actually listened to what I said and don't just make up words for me in their own posts. Well.. you have the rights to your opinions and I have the rights to mine. What you don't have the right to do is be as abusive as you have been in the forum.

My point was about Bermuda, not about my club personally. Basically, I fight for the rights of all Bermuda managers, the same managers that are being insulted by certain managers to get their points across. I can respect wisdom but certainly not those who try to bully people to get their point across.

My posts in this forum became a bit heated and many were quick to jump on me for that. I can easily see the unbalance in this forum. It's like they say, if you have haters, you must be doing something right. Perhaps its because they had a two years start on me... (No, couldn't be that. We will hear about how that must be wrong in the next few posts I am sure.) Either way, I will continue with my plan.  Hopefully, I will throw these words right into the faces of my critics with success. I am patient and like Brian said, its not like they have any more advancing to do.

Good luck with your efforts guys. Remember... once you are at the top, there is only one way to go. I'ld like to be the one to send you on your journeys.

  I get really tired of people like TOPLEVEL opening their mouth about the situation in Bermuda. This user claims to be working for fairness, but admittedly starts accounts in other countries to train his own players. This may sound fair to some, but to me, this doesn't seem very fair. Of course, you will probably argue that its in the rules of the game and isn't cheating, but it makes me question how much you really care about fairness at all. You probably care about fairness as much as you care about being correct about what you say. I find it interesting that even though Bermuda has an active league, that users like TOPLEVEL, fight so hard to prevent us from reaching full league status. I question your motives TOP LEVEL. You have already admitted to practices that are unfair, even if Admin. sanctions it.

  Good luck with your second team. I hope that teams trains your players well for you. Have fun with the bots. I'm sure you picked a good league for that. Besides, if you wanted to do things fairly, you would have trained your own players at home like all the other non-premium members. Obviously, as I said before, being fair isn't what you are concerned about.

That's where your wrong. If my mistake was winning my league titles and winning my cup titles, perhaps you are right, but as far as I see it, I have done what is needed to bring success to my club. With our without the extra league prize money, something that effects my league more than it does my own club, I am finding success and without ripping off all those who are buying my players when I sell them.
Perhaps my mistake was not selling players I no longer valued at the inflated prices I have seen you selling. How many players did you dupe with players you knew were in your opinion, low quality. Toot your own horn if you want, but any help you gave the league was the result of you trying to help yourself. Since this has descended into mudslinging, I will again withdraw myself from this issue. We all have our opinions, even if some think their opinions are the end all of all things. We have seen the facts, provided by Brian earlier. Those who manage below you can read as well and can make their own opinions. As for mine... You talk a good game and have a good team but that's about as far as it goes. Many managers may think you are GKO royalty, but a few have lost my respect through the course of this discussion.

And before you go quoting me again in some attempt to continue the subject, save it. You've said enough here to show there is no more reason to discuss anything with you anymore.
