Guys, i think we need to calm down a little bit.

@top level, i know that GKO isn't fair, not even close, and many of us knows that Zsoka is one of the dirtiest mangers in the game, but i am afriad that we have no choice but to live with it
The fact that none of us spoke here when Zsoka sold a player to a french team at overpriced value (Olympique Lion, as far as i remember) only proved there are different punishments for different situations, Lyon were punished, Zsoka received a ridiculous punishment and Olympique Lyon's real owner (romanian IP, owns another team there) remained untouched, so....

Mathieu didn't say something so  ridicuolus, OF COURSE THERE IS A BLACK MARKET IN TYE GAME, but it happens because there is no control at all! People can have 2, 3 or 50 accounts and NOBODY controls them, money moves in many directions and real punishments doesn't happen, even if the evidences would be clear!
Is that colombian manager a cheater? I don't know, i didn't even tracked his IP to see if he actually is a colombian newbie, so i can't say an opinion about it. But i can be absolutely sure is that many of these suspicious transfers wouldn't happen if we would have a simple tool to compare a player listed with similar players previously sold, but i am asking a new tool, and that is TOO MUCH asking for GKO money milkers, so we have no choice but to live with it, or leave the game, or start cheating akd wait that nobody would noticed, i picked the first option, but that doesn't mean that it might be the best choice... When improving academy was a really great investment, wasn't worth to cheat? Many users received 1M or 2M fine, but they pulled 7 quality youth inmediately, and that happened when there was "some" cheating control, why would things change now? The situation sucks, but i don't see a real solution with current owners in charge, so, pick now: live with it, waste your time complaining or start cheating too, developers already proved us what is the easiest route: " invest money and cheat".

And finally, Txusi, Mathew's transfers are an old story, when they happened, many of us told you you should contact GM to explain because your player were overpaid, if you would have explained the situation, you would probavly have received the money you asked initially, but you picked to get all the money amd see what happens, it weren't good, too bad, but you played russiand roulette and you lost, deal with it my friend.....

We all knew wich teams would play the final, 47 minutes before semi finals would start. Same for quarter finals and before group stage 3rd match....

But nobody cares such things. Tomorrow, you will have the chance to play a match with uncertain result, you should be happy with that  :P

Following this thread, I have a question regarding the use of potential ability points. What is the consensus preference regarding how to distribute any available points for key and secondary skills depending on each position?

For example, a DC player, is it maybe a good idea to grow some key skills (i.e. position, marking, tackling) beyond 15 (obviously, losing "growth" points) or stop training them when they reach to 15 and try to round up some other secondary skills (i.e. heading, jumping, strength, Pace/Speed)?

I have a MC that is still under training but not for much longer. Trying to decide if I should bump up some key skills (i.e. creativity, passing) beyond 15 or if I should focus on other secondary skills which are around 10-11.

Not sure if a skill on 10 is consider a low-rated skill...or 15 is the minimum level for a skill to be consider "he is good at" it.

Anyone? Any thoughts?

It depends on many factors, such as his LA, level of competition (10 might be Ok for national competition, but it's not enough at international level) , the tactic you use (it's not the same to play press more/zonal marking/more roaming than playing stand off more/man marking/stick to position). All i can tell you is that each position has some specific needs

Wait the minute. Does it means that if I set training for a player to "Mental", LA points of that player will not be spent? He can improve these skills to 20, and still be the same LA as before mental training? In another words, the only thing you lose when training mental skills is time? Please, did I understand correctly?

Exactly.

That's why you can't use specific training to improve aggression, determination or influence.

Do a simple test: put any player to train mental, do not use him in matches and see if his est. value increases.
Est. value increases only if the experience increases or if his skill points are spent (in other words, if he improves attacking, defensive, physical, goalkeeping or tactical skills), but if you are lucky enough to have a player improving only mental skills, he can be a whole season improving, and no skill points would be lost.

2nd thing is that higher  value of skill take more from ability.

I don't remember how much each skill cost, but in outfield skills, skill points increases their value when they reach 13, and 18 (was there a midpoint too? I can't remember).
For goalkeeping skills, the first "jump" is when it reaches 11, i can't remember the other increase on their cost (too hard to find, using a smartphone, sorry).

Nice speech, Andy, just one thing to say. My oponent today is out of national cup and absolutely out of competition in league, also he has 1 MotS left, and he knew my MotS might be coming. Now he is the victim?

Under my perspective, he was willing to play MotS against me, because using it somewhere else would be pointless, he never tried to contact me or something and his previous behaviour spoke badly of him. Before the match started i posted clearly, i don't know what he was willing to do, but i wasn't willing to lose, not against him. Still, i played easy tackling today without any clue about his plans, now those "match fixers" are the victims of the whole situation? I used one mots in WCC after 12 seasons playing and i am the bad guy here? Sorry but i dissagree with you.

Really hard question...

When the game was very young, we used to have a competition, looking for the best GKO player, things have changed drastically since then.
To be honest, i don't think i can give a full lineup, but there are 3 players that surely would be on my list:

* Maximo Sandoval is probably the best GKO player worldwide... his ability to open matches and assist his partners is unique, only few players can claim to have won a World Cup in U-21 and NT level, he is one of them, and he is the best player from his generation, his current performance speaks for him.

* is the most complete striker in the GKO world, he's got everything: individual skill, setpiece ability, interesting speed and most important, a terrifying scoring ability, Soldberg's numbers are good, but Prihoda's are a lot better: 794 goals in 564 games, really impressive.

* My third pick might admit some discussion, but to me, the strongest keeper in the GKO world is Zahrudin Bojinovi?, i haven't met him in club level ever, but in NT level i/we met him many times, and we always had to work REALLY hard to beat him, i don't see another keeper better than him, there are other keepers at high level, but to me, he is the best.

In other positions, discussion might be harder, so i choose to pick only 3 players, maybe other users can help and we might create our dream team, don't you think?  :)

I am in a similar situation than Ruta's... i am not premium user and i spend the few energy points i get each day to restore my player's condition, i don't generate incomes from activities so if there's only one way to keep my finances healthy, that's improving my facilities.

Yeah, i know, if i use the cold math and consider how much time i would need to have the invested money back, the investment isn't certainly a perfect bet, but sometimes it's a lot better to have finances balanced each week than having 10M there, doing nothing... or even worst, invest them in something that only will increase my wage expenditures and i might not need  :)

surely many still cheating, because the administrator does not appear, which is the same as giving freedom to cheating

I agree, but we must concede that it is impossible to prove. Both managers could say "I just needed a point, so I parked the bus."

The bus parked is out of discussion to me, it might be  reasonable, the suspicious stuff comes from other things.... There were 7 gameplay situations and 6 of them ended in pases cut, none of us can see individual orders (i am sure that GM can) but i don't see any intention to do something more than finish leveled....

Did someone scouted the player who threw the only corner kick in the game: my maxed scout says he is a 2/5/1 player and his setpiece ability is 1 and and his crossing ability is 10. I wonder if that player will take corner kicks in upcoming games too  :-\

To me,  agreeing not to play mots is unfair only if you save your mots and eventually use it later in the same competition, against somebody who needed to use them earlier, there i would be getting an "advantage" i got in previous rounds. As i said earlier, i never used MotS in a WCC game before, so, do you guys think i cheated, just because i won many matches and the competition using my own strenght only? How curious point of view!

And Drifter, i agree with you that each manager has the right to use the squad he might think is better for his team, but giving up on trying to shoot, even from long range? I have been using subs/B squad in the last 3 seasons, that doesn't mean i did something to manipulate the competition, you can ask any manager i met before if i made things easy to any of them... I could be going further, saying that this season i played with subs in the 7 group stage matches and i made it through (7 matches played, 7 matches won, no goals conceeded), you can avoid using your better squad and still do something looking for a win. That is completely different.

But as Ruta said, GKO made his own problems... Some people might think that playing more than one account is right, but if you make then work together (as main/farm teams) i don't consider it as honorable or fair.... And if you ever meet 2 teams from same manager in WCC group stage (as i did, sometime ago) you might understand how bad we are, in the meantime, keep paying for all the ingame advantage you want, as i said earlier, Wcc is only a big rat nest, a competition where many managers shows the worst they have to offer....

Ruta, the difference between agreeing to not use MotS and agreeing not to shoot is HUGE. You can agree to not use MotS looking for a fair and balanced match and still play for win, in that match nobody even tried to do a miserable long shoot (that would be obvious, if you don't want to use many people forward), i don't see 2 teams agreeing to play fairly, i see 2 teams agreeing a match result useful for both and their comunity.

Now, i understand how you feel, you know that i once got a fantastic player from one of those teams and he has my gratitude for that, but that doesn't change the fact that this is not right and this is not legal. If i turn my sight and ignore the situatiom i wouldn't be different than a gamemaster who doesn't ban a cheater, just because he spend money in the game, don't you think?

EDIT: And i forgot, i would expect a bad tactic coming from somebody playing in a weak league, not from somebody coming from a top ranked league, also, i would expect subs from somebody who have nothing to lose or doesn't care the result, not from somebody who need points to go though, sorry but i don't bite this....

Well, i must say that i saw this inmediately after i knew wich team would be my oponent next round. All i can say is that i never, ever played mots or hard tackling in a WCC game before, and i am seriously considering to do an exception and using both at the same time. I won't waste my time writing to a gamemaster that needs more than a month to do something about a report, we are on our own guys.

What analysis should we do about this? No players set to attack, NOT A SINGLE MISSED SHOT IN THE WHOLE GAME (all players were instructed to pass in the box, for sure). If this is not match fixing, what the f*ck is a match fixed?

Unfair and irregular situations, it is to sanction and elimination of both teams, unfortunately admin will not respond as always

Don't you worry guys, just keep buying token each season to pull great extra youth and heal your players, admin have no need to pay attention to the game if money flows on its own, even if he ignores us  :P

We (as users/customers) have the game we deserve i believe....  :(

Just to add, analysis doesn't work properly for 2 reasons:

First of all, the new transfer system is so unpredictable that the system rarely can predict values correctly.
And secondly (and most important) transfer market is SO dead, that the system rarely have many active bids to collect and calculate a proper stat.

In other words, GKO transfer system is so stupid that people only do high wages as last second bid, and the craziest manager brings the player in most situations.

I like Brian Clough's idea, a lot more than KRAGRA's!

The reason is simple: i don't know how is your experience with league statics, but mine says that a low position team rarely gets something... Top 3 teams always gets everything: top scorer, asassist leader, player of the year and youth player of the year, so.... Will we keep giving them more and more money? Most of these awards already exist (without payment, far enough for me), so, will we give more and more money to the strongest to increase the gap?

Global awards would be awesome, but i think the game would require some improvements that don't think would happen (such as Cup, WCC and WC stats), i like the idea, but i don't see it happening.

DCs are colored red in UPM tactic, it means that his UPM value is only considered at 50% of its real value.
When a player is colored yellow, its considered at 80%
And if he is colored at green, it is considered at 100%

Well, it depends on many factors, specially on your oponent's playingstyle.

If your oponent plays defensive style, scoring situations are harder to create, so it must be slower, you should play short passing there.
If you play counter attack, direct passing is probably the best choice, attack is fast, only few players are involved in that chance after all.
Also, if your oponent plays offside trap, direct passing is the best choice, far better than short passing, the reason is simple: defenders rarely receive passes from midfielders, you usually see midfielders passing to attackers, so your chances to fall into offside trap are lower.
Default passing is ok if you ignore what will use your oponent against you, or if you expect an open/balanced match.

I think as I have noticed that, there is no need for that 50 managers to be active for 2 seasons, it is enough just to reach that number once and automatically that country is given permission to elect national managers.

I think for 3 straight seasons we had 60+ manager in the country but sadly it never got enabled for us



Then the situation is clearer than it seemed to be: NOBODY PAYS ATTENTION, the game runs in auto pilot and game owner only collect money. Will that ever change? As long as people follow the simple "pay per win" stuff, i think it won't  ::)

I have the feeling that academy youth are younger, could it be true? Today i added another 2 extra youth to my academy, and again, they are younger than 17 years old!
Since the season started, i had 13 youth players in total (8 basic, 5 extra), only 3 of them were 17 years old, the others are younger, so after pulling 5 players, i still can pull another 2... I have 8 players in academy now and i after pulling the remaining 2 i will have 6 players with report at hand, ready to be promoted next season.
I always invest some money in extra youth, but having so many 15/16 years old youth never happened to me before, how about you guys?

The best academy grants you only one thing: you player's PR will be 3 as minimum, there isn't any other thing for sure.
In general, i think that Andy and chuncho_ explained it properly. When there was only few TB academies, the chances to get high LA players was higher than now, the reason is probably what elcura posted, quality rates are probably outdated...

In the way i look at it, if i can get 1 really good player from academy each season i am satisfied, but i rarely get quality picking 7 from starting 8 players, i ALWAYS invest at least 1.2M on extra youth and try to pull older players first, i don't mind having a player stuck in academy for a whole season if i can get him next season.... how many 17 years old, X/9/3 players can you buy spending only 1.2M? The answer is simple, only a few, if you dig into market really deeply, else, you can't.
In the other hand, improving my youth numbers i can also improve the chances to get decent undesired players..... if i can get 2 X/8/3 spending a million i will surely recover that money selling them, if i wouldn't invest i would probably get LA6 or LA7 players, and you can't get much from them. In other words, TB academy is not "the investment", its my "investment focus", if you use it right you will surely cover maintenance fees, some profit from players and maybe some really good players, you need to have some luck too.

The wage formula is unknown,  we know some things based on our experience mostly.... I think your player didn't asked you 9k because the 2nd player's  level is lower than the first one, ay first sight one player has more skill points and more experience than the other, that makes his level higher..
But you should expect him to request a new wage next season

And one more question when I look at my teams salaries I think my players request more salary then other teams players do (with relatively same value) in my league different from team to team or I am just paranoid ?

Don't worry, CA9 players rarely ask more than 11k, even if their exp is high, wages increases greatly when CA is close to 7, i have seen some CA10 players that requested more than 24k each week, glagly, mine didn't asked that much (yet), but don't worry, you can live with high wages, you only need to be prepared for it: improve megastore/bar/hotel and you'll be fine.

I am not premium user, and even with wages updated this season, i don't lose that much each week (i used to lose 150k last season, with players that came back from loan and a new player i hired i should be losing around 240k, and i am not considering friendly matches or activities each day), once league matches start i will surely have around 200k profit each week.

If you want some references, i have:

2 CA10 players
6 CA9 players
6 CA8 players
7 CA7 players
1 CA6 player
1 CA3 player

My expenses in wages are 261.141G each week. It might sound high, but after improving income facilities, it's not that much, i can say that my finances are controlled  :)

You only need to invest money on facilities, avoid hiring players paying ridiculously high wages (i have only one with them, the others have the wage they ask, not high wages for winning wage wars) and save some money for postseason, your club can be healthy if you prepare yourself for it   8)
