Need help ? / Re: The fuck is happening?

I dont know to be honest... wouldnt you say a 300000G fine in the case of someone over pricing bad players with the intent of cheating would be acceptable. It just appears harsh because in this case as it is most likely a mistake by GKO and an innocent player has been punished  :-\

N/B... Any chance we could get the subject title modified to something a bit less... direct :P. Younger people also play ;)

It is possible that the algorithm that identified these over pricings since season 1 has not kept up with the general development and improvement of player quality. The result would be similar to your situation.

IMHO you should be able to sell any of your players for any amount of money... however, due to the amount of cheats that try their luck here (amongst many awesome people) i can understand GKO limiting the ability to sell bad players at high prices to ghost teams. If you look from a different perspective you could also argue that it helps smaller teams compete in the transfer market with managers being scared of selling their player for 'too much'.

The only real soulution to stopping genuine players getting caught in this web is to introduce proper player prices, then to put a sensible percentage cap depending on CA/LA/PR. This would be a rough example...

Player value 300000G... CA 3/LA 5/PR 3 would allow you to add 20% so maximum sale price 360000G
Player value 600000G... CA 6/LA 10/PR 6 would allow you to add 40% so maximum sale price 840000G

This would keep lesser players more attainable for lesser teams and better players only available for better teams, its not like Messi would ever be playing for a second division team... so why in GKO :D

Real compton... i THINK its about 8 rounds, but dont quote me on that  :D. I think you are onto something with the AMR though lol 8)

Roostophe... i hope that intervention helped  ;)... i agree with Andy, also dont forget that each season ALL teams are improving across all leagues so newly promoted teams are better than the relegated BOTs! It is amazing what a tactic tweak can do though  8)

A good result for Liverpool against Man C, you should have won it though taii  ;)... btw thank you for helping Arsenal find their shooting boots last weekend  :P.

Is looking like an interesting season... Swansea are playing some awesome football as are some other smaller teams, could we see a 'small club' win the league  ::) :o :-\

Lol it was a good game Roostophe and well won... nothing to be sorry about  8). Its good to see you pulled back that cup match too my friend  :)

Real Compton, if you have not got the team depth to go all out in both, i would recommend you stick to the league games. Second place in C3 is a great position to be in but a delecate one. What you dont want to do is burn out your game winners in the cup then suffer in the league for it IMHO  ;)

If however you achieve early security in your league (9-12 point gap really) you can afford to lose a few games so is an ideal oppertunity to pump into the cup if you're still in it... hope this helps (different perspective)  :D

You have to fancy Man C to improve on last season, they may even be worth a punt for the double (which pains me to say being a gunner lol)

However... the person that rules out Man UTD for honors obviously does not know them, they will not conceed to Man C so easily  ;).

Flip a coin for who else may get lucky... Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea all have the teams to win something... but have they the bottle to attack the Manchester duo  :o

The league will be decided by who loses the least head to head matches opposed to who picks up the points from smaller teams.

IMHO  :D

Tips and Tricks (English Only) / Re: how to make FC very dangerous
« on: August 04, 2012, 05:48:26 PM »
The simple answer to the simple question is:

To make a CF that is specificaly good in the box they would need to maximise the following....

Finishing, Off the ball, Positioning, Heading and Jumping... also strength would be useful.

Regardless of tactics this should create a real fox in the box (Gary Lineker style  :D)

Hope this helps  :)

We are in a tough league Roostophe, teams are just about finding their form so 2-2-1 is a pretty good start  :).

A friend of mine in our league is 2-3-0 but has the team to have won all five  ::)

I am sure that after a few more matches we will start seeing leagues taking shape a gaps will begin to appear between innactives/bots and active managers so just stick with it  8)

Good luck and i will look forward to our match against each other  :D

If you are looking for some players fitting your original request Hecc, it would be best to put the request in the international forum, you might find one or two strong key players  :)

In the English league your probably looking at a lot of 4/5/3 or ../6/3 players in general with some better thrown in  ;)

A great selection strategy by the way  :D

Well done Hecc  :)

We now have a top quality english manager for the U-21s so i am happy with that  :D

Good luck with the team Hecc  8)

I voted no... this is why:

On the whole, it is a good principle and indeed realistic. However, certain criteria must be met... for example, the manager from a different country should be fluent in the positions native language. They should have some link to the country they are applying for to ensure none bias when facing their native country in competition etc.... this would make the criteria so tight to ensure fair management that things could only go wrong lol  ::)

Considering some apparently 'good' national candidates from their native country turn out to be living elsewhere or are unfair and dishonest (like the previous English U-21 manager), managing a proposal like this would be terrible... so i agree with admin on this  :)

Good idea though  :D

Suggestions/Bugs / Re: Players estimated values
« on: July 13, 2012, 11:40:57 AM »
IMHO... Performance should improve player statistics, player statistics should improve/lower estimated value... depending on players age, LA and current natural skill increase/decrease.

Dont forget, it is only an estimated value as well... other managers will pay their chosen price for any player regardless of how much said player is estimated to be worth  :D

It has always been quiet in this forum, the odd passer by and a good few readers... still, we have fairly good representation in the international forums (ourselves included  ;))

It is nice to start playing real players lol, last season in my C league i was against a number of good active managers and this season i am against more plus a player i have regular friendlies against who has also come up from the E leagues... so it is so exciting  :D

I totally agree, youth develeopment within the english leagues through the U-21 squad is vital for our nation to become more successful in international cups and competitions imho  :)

It depends on your tactics more than anything  ;)

With 4-3-3 you need to committe to a single style of play. You can play wide combined with lots of crossing, this will be the best attacking option but the worst defensive option. You can play central combined with short passing, this will be the worst attacking option but the best defensive option.

Either way, you need two solid CB's, a solid CF and depending on tactics a solid CM or two solid ML/MR

England / U21 International manager vote-Intervention
« on: July 11, 2012, 11:00:42 AM »
Hi all, I thought this would be a good time to explain my plans for the U21 squad so you can decide whether you want to vote for me  :)

My policies will be as follows, i pledge to follow through on these points:

I will not pick any more than 3 players from any one team and no more than one player from my own team if no other options are better.
I will prioritise U21 players playing in the English league to promote National development.
I will pick players presented to me with not only high current ability but also those with high limited ability to promote the strong development of the youth team through to the Senior National team.
I will listen to concerns and actively reply to them personally and honestly.
I will pick formations and tactics to suit the strongest possible team selection.
I will try my best to develop players and restore some national pride to the under 21's catagory.

If i do not follow this pledge, i will be happy for GKO to delete my league team!

As you can see from my history, i am a good manager that has been promoted from the E leagues to the B leagues in straight seasons appart from my first season where i finished third. I will do all i can to make selections fairly and with the best interest of the U21 team at heart.
I am an honest, active and honorable player and am also active in the forums.

Anyway, i hope you vote for me and good luck to all the other managers who have applied for the position. Good luck all  :)

Suggestions/Bugs / Re: opinion about tactics
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:11:08 AM »
That would be good... even just a through ball option on the individual instructions would do me lol  8)

Better still... position appropriate instructions... i am not expecting my defenders to be in a position to take long shots, be in the penalty box (opposing sides) or to run with the ball much. But being able to tell each different defender to tackle harder or softer, press or stand off more or to go up for set peices would be great.

Also for midfield, to be able to set individual players to take long shots, play the wing and cross or cut in towards goal and to support the attack or defense would be great lol

Anyway, happy as i am but would be happier with these types of changes :D

General Discussion(English Only) / Re: GOKICKOFF Records
« on: January 30, 2012, 06:33:59 PM »
Thank you... will teach me not to read the first page lol   :-[

The current record: 40 assists / 42 matches = 0.952380 assists per match (APM)

I guess it depends on how its calculated... my player is as follows

League 31 assists / 28 league matches = 1.107142 (APM)
Total of 32 competitive assists  / 29 competitive matches = 1.103448 (APM)
Total games this season (including friendlies) 35 assists / 30 matches = 1.1666 (APM)

... so is it the average per match through the season or basically the total amount lol??

What is the standing record for player assists in a season?

One of my players has 31 with two games to go... seems pretty good to me  :-\

Suggestions/Bugs / Re: pace of the game
« on: January 30, 2012, 04:15:11 PM »
LMAO Etienne, seriously... the way you put that made me laugh  ;D

Yes, you are right... it is a fact it would take that long for a youth player to come up through the ranks all the way to retirement... it does seem a bit crazy imo

But i think that is a seperate issue to what many like, which is the slower pace of the time between matches.

Personally i prefer a match a day format, however i play many other online games so this pace suits me for this particular game :)

Suggestions/Bugs / Re: What do you think about MotS?
« on: January 30, 2012, 03:57:24 PM »
Lol the bout MOTs  :P

Basically put, MOTs has almost won the league for me (one draw needed over two matches left), this is how they worked for me:

Ended up in second place in E-division at the end of the season
Promoted to D-division ALONG WITH the same team that beat me to first place in the E-division
Found out we are still the only two active managers in our D-division
First match against them, at their stadium, i use MOTs and they did not... i won the match (just)
Second match against them, at my stadium, we both use MOTs... i won with home advantage

If they had assessed their priorities the same as i did then they could have used MOTs in the first match and probably would have won, meaning being closer to me in the D-division (i am six points clear)!

Personally i ignored the cup and put my focus on the D-division meaning i used my MOTs advantage tactically for that purpose whereas my main rival maybe split priority between the league and cup.

You see, its not the fact there are MOTs to be used... but how you choose to use them  8)
