Personnaly I would make the game a lot faster...
4 months for a season is too long... it means to wait 3 years in real life to have a youth become mature, that's just crazy...

I would divide the number or team by 2 in a league, and have 3 matchs a week ( and accelerate/tune all the parameter of the game accordingly, like training / injuries / money etc )

Personnaly I am not convinced about this system.
It's all about "the more you win, the more you will win".. and "the more you lose, the more you will lose". That's because player rating seems to be linked to match result in some way ( if you lose, that is because you are dominated, and if you are dominated, you didnt perform well )

And the fact that friendly does affect morale, so youths have very bad morale...

This beeing said, I like the idea that the player ranking does affect morale, but that should not be the only parameter...
Some ideas on what could affect also morale :
- league ranking
- contract renewal / contract length
- to be part of the starting eleven ( increase morale ) or never play ( morale decrease )
- when you buy or sell similar profil in the team ( if you buy a good striker, the actual ones should have a morale decrease, but if you sell one, the others should be happy to have less concurrence )
- player level in the starting eleven ( if the player is far better than other player, he may be unhappy and want to join a better club => decrease morale... on the contrary, a beginner like a youth should be very happy to play with good players => morale increase )
- etc...

I played HT for a long time but stopped since the game was initially badly thought and it has no fun to play.
I also played Trophymanager but admins are better to destroy their game instead of improving it, so I stopped.

Now I play Sokker ( HT like but better and with 2D engine ) and oneskillmanager ( concept is very basic but great )

This beeing said, contract feature need to be reworked... Today there is no drawback to have all players with max length contract, even those who are very old, or those we are going to sell... There are some features to develop there, like :

- charges to fire a player depends on contract remaining length ( the longer, the higher fee )
- charges to transfer a player depends on contract remaining length ( the longer , the more indemnity the player want, within the 80-70 ratio ...1 year = you get 80 % of the transfer, 5 years = 70 % ... )
- any good idea is welcome :)

It's definately part of the gameplay to decide "which youth I will give some play time in A to help him progress fast with the risk of altering my match results"

And CarlosT is right about the fact that, the big majority of new youths doesnt have enough skill to help any team, even in lowest league.

In fact this is loaning feature that have been already proposed.

Loaning player has big concerns about cheating and abuses...
To avoid abuse, you have to do the exact same way as transfer : public auction system so it can be controlled.

One possible implementation :

- Loaning concerns all players with more than 1 year contract left
- Loaning is driven by public auction system like standard transfer to avoid abuse/cheating/help friend
- Bid is the amount of money you will pay every week to the owner
- Min Bid is by default the wage of the player
- teams ( loaner ) cannot loan more than 2 players of their squad, to avoid loaning farm team, and you cannot get more than 2 players by loan in your team.
- loaned player cannot have a value superior to the best player value of the team who bid, in order to not modify that much game balance

With these kind of rules, it should be fair.
