Hi all,

i have a question.

So if i buy a player and offer him a contract length of 5 seasons.... does that mean that the player will have the same wage for 5 seasons even if he develops and becomes a word class player in 5 seasons.

For example:

i buy a player CA2/LA7/PR5 with a wage of 986G/week

So i play him and in 3 seasons or less he becomes CA7/LA7.

Now does that mean that the player will still be paid 986G per week for 5 seasons but then on the 6th season he will need a pay rise of 10,000G for example?

No, he will ask more at the start of new season when he raised the previous season. I mean, if the player continues training, he will ask the next season a new salary acording to his new abilities. Until you renew him with new salary he will be in unhappy status, making him playing worse than he could play.

so every season player will ask for new wage if he has improved his skills/ability. did i understand correctly?

Yes, if he improve enough to ask for more salary. If he improves a little bit, he will not ask for more salary, but if his improve is enough (for example from CA6 to CA7) he will go to unhappy status, asking for more salary. BUT, if the salary is over his normal salary, he will not ask for it. I mean, if you bid for a CA5 with a salary of 30K, when his normal salary is 1,500 he will not ask more when he arrives to CA7 (with a normal salary of 6.000, for example).

I once offered a player a 5 year contract at the beginning of the season. He went to unhappy in less then half of THAT season in which he accepted the 5 year contract.

I do not know if it was a game error or something else but I have two players that ability was 2 when i signed them for 500-700 salary and after two seasons and their improvement to CA 6 they did not requested salary upgrade.

However I have other players that after slight ability upgrade they requested a salary upgrade at the beginning of the season.

So from my experience not every player request new contracts

i am manager of ksv baunatal. I have a player on loan from sl benfica called steve stekelenburg. Hes wages are e150 000 pw . which in the german 3 liga, i cannot afford to pay.
If i had seen hes weekly wage i wouldnt have taken him on loan.
So maybe in future you could add the players weekly wage, to any loan agreement.
It has taken me awhile to figure out why i have been losing so much money every week

I'm sorry but are you posting about Gokickoff, or another game? There is no team called ksv baunatal or sl benfica in this game, nor a player named steve stekelenburg, as far as I can tell. Also the highest wages in GKO are 105 000 pw, much less than the 150 000 you say...

of course, I recognise that KSV Baunatal and SL Benfica are real football clubs, so perhaps you are referring to Football Manager? Except there is no real footballer named Steve Stekelenburg as far as I know...
